The Past Simple tense

We use the Past Simple to describe actions which started and finished in the past and we know when they happened.
When you use the Past Simple, you have to pay attention to regular and irregular verbs.When you use regular verbs in the Past Simple, you have to add -d or -ed to infinitive forms.
Irreglar verbs don't follow this rule; they change form in the Past Simple so you have to learn them by heart.

There are some spelling rules which you have to remember.
"To be" is an irregular verb and it is the only verb in the English language which has two forms: WAS and WERE.
